Our History
Winning the first tournament of the year does not always guarantee success in the remaining events on the Duramed FUTURES Tour. But in three of the past five years, the winner of the season opening
Bright House Networks Open has earned her LPGA Tour Card. Sue Ginter-Brooker (2002), Soo Young Moon (2003) and last year’s winner Meaghan Francella. Finishing at seven under par 209, Meghan parlayed her early success into a season of exceptional golf that earned her the fifth, and final, exempt LPGA Tour Card at the I LOVE NY Championship in Albany, NY this past September.
Last years champion, Lori Atsedes, finished the season at 18th on the Official Money List, completing a season that saw her earn one victory and earn three Top-25 finishes while missing only one cut in 19 events.

Our Charity
Aside from being a world-class women’s professional golf
tournament, the Bright House Networks Open also works to give as
much back to charity as possible. Proceeds from the tournament benefit the
YMCA Par 3 at The First Tee of Lakeland. The First Tee program has over
200 chapters across the country and through the game of golf; youth will
learn and practice positive character values inherent to the game and
critically important in life such as honesty, integrity, sportsmanship,
respect and confidence. The Bright House Networks Open is proud to
continually support their mission and their commitment to the children of
Polk County.
